My Ayahuasca Journey Part 2
Before we get started, I want to share an online consumer advocate study about essential oils. Whether you use them or not, it is important to know how they are sourced, tested and marketed, before deciding to purchase any. I use essential oils mostly in my custom candle making. Depending on the wish of my client’s healing, will depend on which essential oil, botanical and candle color I will use. As many of you recall, last week’s blog introduced my custom candles for sale on my website. And because I use essential oils for my candles (& ever so sparingly in some of my client’s Reiki sessions as aromatherapy) I thought you a few of you might be interested in seeing this report. I will find a spot for this report on my website, but for now, here it is: https://www.consumersadvocate.org/essential-oils Well here we go with part 2. And I am going to leave out a lot of personal stuff, but there were some really interesting parts to this ceremony, that may be of some benefit to some of you. If you didn’t read part 1, that’s okay, they are totally different experiences. These blogs talk about my ayahuasca experience in October 2018. Typically, when one decides to go on an Ayahuasca retreat, there are opportunities for more than one ayahuasca ceremony, and although not required, it is “expected” no matter what one may tell you, that you will partake in each ceremony. To be fair, likely you have traveled across the globe, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally prepared, as well as adjusted your diet hopefully, in order to experience ayahuasca, and get the most out of your experience. So please be prepared in your own soul, how you will approach each ceremony. This is where I was unprepared. Nausea is a known side effect of ayahuasca for greater than 90% of the people that partake; (if you read a chunk of the articles on this plant medicine, and several books) so if you suffer from severe nausea as a manifestation of your stress, pain, etc., it will be pretty overwhelming. Be prepared mentally for this, as well as how you will care for yourself during, and after this process, so that you can recover as best as possible in between each session. Each ceremony brings so much information and possible healing, so traveling across the globe in order to experience ayahuasca, and missing even one ceremony, may possibly rob you of a valuable experience. That said, you must also listen to your body, your gut reaction, your soul, and your Higher self, each and every step of the way. If ayahuasca reinforces anything, it is that reality and your experience is molded by you, and you have a right to protect your sovereignty, at all times. Surrender to the process, not any one person, ever. This is your journey of awakening and self-love. In Ceremony #2 for me, I decided to face my fear and history of nausea, head on, as well as what else I needed to be shown. As I sat and let the medicine work its way through my body, I asked the nausea to come; come and tell me what you have to teach me. Here is a bit of the conversation I had in my head. (As a nurse, believe me, this conversation was pretty detailed! And I was also tired of the suffering. I wanted to release suffering as a way of learning). “Please come nausea, help me understand why you are so intense, even when there is no medical reason; what have you come to teach me; you have been present for a huge chunk of my life” To my surprise with this invitation, very little nausea came. Instead, I was taken on a journey to my solar plexus chakra. For those of you that have no idea what that is, no worries. Basically, our body has 7 energy centers (some teachers will teach there are 9-12, but the basics are 7) 3 of them are called the lower chakras: root, sacral, solar; and the remaining include: heart, throat, third eye and crown chakra. These chakras are energy centers that if out of balance, can cause different areas in our lives to become further unbalanced. And the reverse is true, if different areas of your life our out of balance, chances are your chakras are out of balance. But again, I digress, this blog is in no way a lesson on chakras, this is my ayahuasca journey part 2! So back to my solar plexus chakra journey. I was shown all of my chakras with each of their vibrant colors, rotating in a “flower of life” pattern at a fairly consistent speed, with the exception of my solar plexus chakra. My solar plexus chakra was slower, and not quite as the vibrant yellow in color, as the other chakras in their own distinct colors. For those of you that may not know, the solar plexus chakra is directly above your navel, in other words your “gut!” On a more esoteric, spiritual explanation, our solar plexus chakra is where we hold our power, our will and our control over our environment. This chakra also speaks about our digestive system, our self-esteem and our ability or willingness to trust our gut. This made perfect sense to me. As a person with a life-long recovery from an eating disorder, it made perfect sense to me that this chakra needed some extra attention from me. Additionally, since having this experience in my ayahuasca ceremony, I recently had a dream about being in a big, boxy orange SUV, and then a yellow corvette. A little dream interpretation, dreams about cars typically talk about how we are moving through life. So, it was clear to me in this dream, and some of the dream content, that there were also some blocks in my sacral chakra, that if cleared, would allow some rapid growth with the issues surrounding my solar plexus chakra. Which again, is far beyond the scope of this blog! Anyway, back to the ayahuasca ceremony #2! As I was being shown the solar plexus chakra, I was then told I would be taken to the “matrix” to see what occurs when humans don’t deal with their emotions, it affects every single one of us, and creates an actual physical density that creates potential blocks for you and others. This isn’t that hard to realize, when we think about our healing. Those of you that have, or are, doing some deep inner work, would probably agree, that as you go through this process, you learn your strength; you learn about others that are meant to be/remain in your life, heal with you, and the healing spreads all throughout your inner circle. What I saw in the matrix looked like something out of a horror movie. There were people, body parts, legs, feet, faces, just a dark, dense wall of dense energy that you really could not get through. When I realized the only way through it, was to step back, and realize this wasn’t part of me; I have addressed my issues, and continue to do so; I was able to see a way around this “real, impenetrable” density. There were persons in this “mass of dark energy” that made eye contact with me. It wasn’t scary, but they were so “stuck” in this mass of contorted and twisted parts, that their bodies or faces couldn’t even turn to face me, just their eyes. I wasn’t scared, I just knew I didn’t belong there, but I also knew with all of my being, that what we say, don’t say, do or don’t do, to help or harm another, affects us all, including ourselves. Please never lose sight of the tremendous power each and every one of us holds in our hearts to heal ourselves and one another. If each of us had an inkling of how powerful we are as humans, we would change our reality and heal the planet, ourselves and each other. You have everything you need, within your beautiful soul, to heal yourself. Namaste! There will be a part 3, and then a follow-up to talk about what to look for, should you decide to consider your own ayahuasca experience!
